It's Your Health
Nothing is more important than your health and the health of your loved ones.
Nothing!
You need to make a special effort to stay healthy. This means regular visits to your doctor and, when you are there, telling your doctor about any health issues you have, whether it be back pain, dizziness, weakness, constant shortage of breath; whatever. You need to let the doctor know so he can catch any potential serious health problems immediately before they do become life threatening. If your doctor can't help, talk to another doctor.
You know your health better than anyone else. My wife was a brittle diabetic and until she ended up in the hospital for 3 months about 7 years ago, I knew very little of this disease. She ended up in a wheelchair due to diabetic neuropathy and has had bypass heart surgery, colon surgery, a kidney transplant and just recently, a pancreas transplant.
During the times in the hospitals, many times she would be having a problem they could not figure out and I would see what she was being given and let them know that might be causing the problem. I was giving her an iv anti-biotic at home and she developed severe memory problems after almost 3 weeks on this. I checked the internet and after reading on the symptons at many sites, I called the doctor and said I thought the anti-biotic was the problem.
He did not feel it was because she had been tolerating it well but, to his credit, told me to stop the anti-biotic. A day later her memory began to improve and within a few days, she was back to normal.
Don't be afraid to read all you can about any of your health conditions and go over them with your doctor. There is a lot of erroneous info on the web so don't simply take what you read as gospel. Research many sites. Then go over your concerns with your doctor.
The aim of this site is to help you in that research and I hope you find this valuable in your quest for good health.
